Shamelessly stolen from www.TobyJepson.com

"Hi there

Tonight I can confirm that I have been approached for, and I have accepted the job as vocalist for Dio's Disciples.

It is a project put together by Ronnie James Dio's Wife and manager Wendy Dio, to keep the great mans music alive and to celebrate the amazing legacy he left behind after his untimely death last year.

The band will consist of Dio band members:
Craig Goldy on guitar, Simon Wright on drums, Rudy Sarzo on bass and Scott Warren on Keyboards. I will be joined on stage by vocalist Tim 'Ripper' Owens to share the duty of delivering what I believe to be some of the greatest Rock songs ever written.

As im sure you can imagine, this is an unbelievable privilege for me but also incredibly daunting as Ronnie is without doubt one of the greatest vocalist to ever grace the stages of rock and can never be replaced.
Ronnie was a pivotal reason for me wanting to get into this game in the first place after hearing that amazing tone and delivery as a kid, so I don't take this task lightly and intend to do everything in my power to do as good a job as possible and hope all fans of Ronnie's can join us in celebrating the great man and his music.

There are shows plans for Europe and the rest of the world and will bring you the dates as soon as I have them.
Until then I thank you for reading and sincerely hope you will join us and become one of Dio's Disciples!

Kindest regards

Tobe
Scarborough 2011"

21st March 2011

A big congratulations to Toby who has been announced as the singer for Dio Disciplines-a tribute to Ronnie James Dio who passed away last year.  Wendy Dio posted the following messages at www.ronniejamesdio.com

"Dear Friends,

I wanted to let you know that Rudy, Simon, Craig and Scott will be playing some shows in Europe together with Ripper Owens and Toby Jepson as DIO Disciples.

There will never be another Ronnie, but we want to keep his music alive and hope you will support the band and become one of the
DIO Disciples.

We will post the UK/European tour dates as they are confirmed, and we are planning some US dates also.

Hope to see you at one of the shows.

With love, Wendy"

10th August 2010

Overwhelming Me is available for download/streaming at www.tobyjepson.com right now.  I love this song to say the least!  Lyrics below.....

Overwhelming Me

I’ve been waiting for so long

Am I crazy – I don’t understand what’s going on

Didn’t see where you came from

Thought that I would end up living out my life alone

Please forgive me if I seem a little out of my head

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Is this how I should feel? Is it real?

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Finally I feel something real

But it’s hard to change routine

Cos I’m a creature comforted by falling in-between

Can you give me a little time

To adjust I spent so long preparing for the fight

Please forgive me if I seem a little out of my head

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Is this how should I feel?  Is it real?

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Finally I feel something real

Is this real enough

Is this the real thing we’ve got
I could not take rejection

Not again I’d rather stop it now

So tell me please I’ve got to know

Can we let this love grow

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Is this how should I feel?  Is it real?

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Finally I feel something real

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Is this how should I feel?  Is it real?

Oh it’s overwhelming me

So unexpectedly

Finally I feel something real

2nd August 2010

Actual proper bona-fide EP 3 news-it will be available for the Skin tour!  It may include some bonus tracks but the titles released so far are 'Better Off Dead', 'Rear View Mirror' and 'Small Talk'.

Also, this weeks track is the phenomenal 'Overwhelming Me'-coming in the next few days.  Other tracks coming soon on the free download list are 'Back In The Day' and 'Gina'.  Exciting times :)

31st July 2010

Two new Warm Up shows added to the list of upcoming tourdates; Stereo in York on Saturday 4th December and Bootleggers in Kendal on Tuesday 7th December....

17th July 2010

Lyrics to the new songs, Hurts and The Chosen One available for download on www.tobyjepson.com, along with songs on the jukebox you may not have heard before......

Hurts

There’s always something taking place

Beneath my happy smiling face

That I wear a frown

It isn’t that I have a doubt

It’s more about the feeling

That’s hanging round

It isn’t like a new phenomena

I was just a commoner

Way back when

But at the time I’m flying

There’s no point in us denying

Whats happening

[Chorus]

Cos it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did before

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did before

Dice is always loaded

So the game I can’t control
It’s never fair

The crumbs beneath the table

Aren’t sufficient to disable

All that I fear

Where in this equation

Is the source of our salvation

And happiness

Still waiting for an answer

I’m a lover not a dancer
Of all your sweet tenderness

But it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did before

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did before

And it takes all my time to ignore

Everything that gone before

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more more more

But it’s a good ?????

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did before

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did before

And it takes all my time to ignore

Everything that gone before

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did before

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more

Than it ever did

And it takes all my time to ignore

Everything that gone before

Yeah it hurts just a little bit more more more more

The Chosen One

Though it’s hard to admit

I stopped making sense

Between the blood and the spit

I lost my confidence

But I never thought

That I would live to see

All my hopes fade away

The rests just bad memories

So hold on tight, don’t be scared

Don’t look down unless you’re well prepared
Turn my face to the sun
I’m not gonna be the chosen one

This foolish work of art

Has everything but taste

While cautious men slow down

The idiot makes haste

And the tracks of my tears

As plain as the egg on my face

And as I crack a smile

It’s hard to imagine what those tears erase

?????? rides down, another fall
Just you wait until your dad gets home

Happiness, worn and gone

I’m not gonna be the chosen one

Footloose, two left feet

Sometimes hell the only place to be

Putting your faith in fools

??Fool is wrong???

Well I’m not gonna be the chosen one

I’m not gonna be the chosen one

I won’t wait

Can’t be late

When I’ll be back I can’t say

I won’t wait

Can’t be late

When I’ll be back I can’t say

So forgive my mouth

Exohonorate

Lets’ not holler

Put on the brakes

Guilt complex

Hours of fun

I’m not gonna be the chosen one

Waters on

Little rain

Old men know the truth but still complain

Welcome to this house of fun

I’m not gonna be the chosen one

The chosen one

The chosen one

The chosen one

I’m not gonna be the chosen one

Turn my face to the sun

Cos I’m not gonna be the chosen one

3rd July 2010

Big news this week (which I have been a little slow at posting!)-basically Toby has quit as singer of Gun.  The Official website sent out this announcement..

"GUN - Announcement from Toby Jepson

Due to increasing writing and production commitments for other artists, I have decided to leave GUN as the singer. I have had a fantastic time working with Jools and Dante and consider the music we have created together as being amongst the best I have been involved in throughout my career . I wish them well and sincerely hope that we will work together again in some capacity in the future. I stress that that I am in no way leaving the world of live music, far from it, it is simply that at the moment I cannot commit 100% to future GUN plans and would not want to stand in the way of the bands potential further development . I fully intend to resurface as a rock singer in one way or another in the near future so watch this space...

GUN - Announcement from Jools & Dante.

Following on from Toby's announcement we will take some time out to decide GUN's future.
The last couple of years have been great and we have really enjoyed playing the gigs. Thanks to Toby for being an excellent frontman and thanks to the fans for supporting us.
Dante and I will keep you posted with what's happening.......so don't go away now!"

Toby is currently producing an album for a Russian singer which should be finished in August and then his commitment will be EP3 (finally!).  I'll still be reminding him every week though.
