Fleece And Firkin, Bristol
22nd July 2002

OK, so Peterborough didn't go well but that was yesterday and this is today.  After a long drive we arrived just in time to hear Nick and Roger playing 'Dancing Queen' on acoustic guitars during soundcheck.  Roger also hung his 'lucky pants' on the mic during the soundcheck which seemed to work for the show and the rest of the tour.

Once the doors had opened, one pair of ladies went straight to the stage and stayed there right at the front til the end of the night.  I also met Grayson, Stephanie and Martyn before the show.

Anyway, this show was GREAT!  Definitely the best of the tour so far.  The band played an absolute blinder tonight and banished yesterday from their memories.  'Twisted Rhapsody' was, perhaps sensibly, dropped - everything else was the same but played on 11.

Nick had some relatives visiting him tonight - they had never seen him play before.  Unfortunately for most of the females in the audience this meant he was too shy to take his top off, he didn't want his Auntie to know he had his nipple pierced!

Stephanie was pulled up to sing on 'Too Much Too Young' and was excellent and clearly loved being up there, singing and dancing with Toby.

Tonight's show basically set the standard for the remaining dates.
